Fruit Plate, Knife

This one is photographing very murky, and the color is actually cleaner than this shot. Something gets altered between my photo program and the posting. I was happy with the many soft greys, none of which are muddy in the real painting. I realize excuses are bad form, but sometimes you just can't help yourself.

  1. The translucency in the oranges and reflected light on the plate is impressive! The previous one really has the feel of a Wonner-ish composition---did you add objects individually? Just revisited Cupcake Noir . . . I like it for its anti-cupcake feel. I had just looked at the Greenhouse Gallery site to re-look at Diane Massey Dunbar's work and saw a cupcake on her sold work page. I'm impressed by her paint- handling and wonder if she paints alla prima. Are you familiar with her work?
